Two checks matter before purchase
A phone needs both eSIM support and permission to use another carrier. A compatible device that remains carrier-locked may reject a travel eSIM.
- Confirm that the exact regional model supports eSIM.
- Look for an Add eSIM or Add mobile plan option.
- Ask the home carrier whether the phone is unlocked.
Check an iPhone
Open Settings, choose Cellular or Mobile Data and look for Add eSIM. You can also open Settings, General and About to review the Carrier Lock field. Wording can vary by iOS version and region.
Check Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel
On a supported Samsung device, open Settings, Connections and SIM manager. On a supported Pixel, open Settings, Network & internet and SIMs. Look for an option to add or download a SIM.
- Update the operating system first.
- Check the manufacturer specification for the exact model number.
- Remember that some country variants disable eSIM.
Prepare before checkout
Do not rely only on the marketing name printed on the phone box. Confirm the model, unlock status and available eSIM setting before purchasing a non-refundable digital package.
